Nature's Geometries

Exhibited at the Gallery Belltown Condominium July 18 - October 16 2019, this collection of digital paintings is inspired by the season in Seattle I like to call “exuberant spring” – it’s when all the plants are excited, growing like mad, and growing everywhere, in every shade of green you can imagine. In the growth, I see patterns of foliage, and of dark and light, and take photos to inspire my daily art. In Nature’s Geometries, these photos of plant forms provide the basic patterns for my work – deconstructed and reconstructed into new patterns and/or abstracted into new forms by dividing the space according to a set of self-imposed rules. It’s a celebration of growth, abundance, and beauty found in nature.
