Earlier this summer, I was selected by the city of Tukwila (WA) to provide artwork for signal boxes as part of their public art program. I worked with the city and a vinyl printer to wrap three signal boxes with artwork, and I'm really pleased with how they turned out! You can go visit them on the corner of Tukwila International Boulevard and S. 144th Street.
I was thinking of this cluster of boxes like a family waiting to cross the street. The public library and pool are nearby, maybe they're heading to one of those places, or a nearby part or restaurant? The wrap artwork for each box is related yet distinct, giving each a separate energy and personality while maintaining a strong family resemblance.
