This work is designed so that it can be displayed in two different ways depending on the space.

I make a digital painting every day. This is a practice I started in 2018 to reclaim my creative energy after a long hiatus from art. Since then, it has grown and evolved into a time-based series of autobiographical digital paintings – now built over more than 2200 consecutive days’ work. I call this the Daily Art Habit. Each piece in this continuum is inspired by the time and place of its creation and my thoughts and feelings for the day, making it like a personal time capsule.

I use the Daily Art Habit pieces as raw materials for site-specific installations and wall sculptures that reflect strict rules and sets of algorithmic steps - self-imposed organization and filtering of the ever-increasing free flow of ‘data’ from my daily art practice.

Memories: March and April is the result of an exploration to see if there was a dominant color in my work for each month. In 2023, I organized the Daily Art Habit series images by date and color to see what patterns emerged. Most months had more than one dominant color, and I found a few things that surprised me — for example, the prevalence of the ‘hot’ color orange in the cool month of December.

Memories: March and April consists of 17 images from the Daily Art Habit series in the dominant color palettes for those months, printed as 54 4x4” postcards and assembled into a a columnar wall sculpture.
